John Eric Booth’s “Swinging The Songbook”

It was 2011. Through a series of events, I found myself putting plans into place to organize a concert date in a venue “far far away”, and minus throwing a dart at a map of Los Angeles… the destination wound up being The Mint. I knew NOTHING about it. Never been there. In it’s day this small nightclub hosted a roster of familiar faces, from Rat Pack days of yore.

Since my dear friend Pat Longo made his home nearby in Van Nuys and had a corral of fine players to utilize from his big band… and one afternoon of rehearsal the day before, the result was “Swinging The Songbook” which was incredibly filmed by my now good friend Eddie Jung (who later was responsible for my “Girl Talk” video) and his then partner Adi Nyair.

Songs include:
There’ll Be Some Changes Made
Too Marvelous For Words
Don’ Cha Go Way Mad
You’re The Right One
Someday (You’ll Want Me To Want You)
Welcome To The Club
Mack The Knife
For The Good Times
Just Friends (featuring Pat Longo)
Sposin’
There’s No Such Thing
Jump!

This week I decided to dust it off and add a bit of technical spritz to the result. I certainly hope you enjoy this 42 minute show!
